Default Editing makes a topic active?

When you edit a reply, can it make the topic active? I just edited a couple of my posts, but now I can only hope the person I am talking to notices, because there's no little '*'.

Thanks.

No.

There's no information kept in the database regarding the last change to a reply. The only date/time info that's kept is when the reply was created. The Active Topics keys off this date. It wouldn't be appropriate to update the original date/time with the edited date/time. Then the reply could appear to be "out of order" in the thread.
