Default Mail Block Feature Request

Hi everyone,

I have another feature request (hope you're not getting tired of it).

Right now, mail being send depends on the topics and forums you're subscribed to. However, it would be very convenient to block e-mail totally, regardless the topic you're subscribed to with a setting in your profile. This way, you can have some sort of "holiday blocker" to stop mail completely when you're gone for a while. Since I am subscribed to quite some topics, it's not very convenient to unsubscribe and subscribe again whenever I am away for a couple of days / weeks. It's also not convenient to have a zillion messages waiting for me when I return.

It would even be cooler if you could make a distinction between those topics you did and didn't participate in, so you can still get "your" topics in your Inbox.

Ideas anyone?

Cheers,

Imar

Not to totally discount the idea, but wouldn't it be easier or more practical for individual users to accomplish this through rules or filtering in their email client? Yes, you'd still get the messages but they could be sorted/deleted/whatever according to the identifier in [] in the subject.

That would work for server based e-mail, like Yahoo for example, but not for POP servers.
With a POP server, you need an open e-mail client to filter the messages which can be problematic when you're out on holiday... So, after a while, your POP account is full, and the server starts sending bounce messages for each message it receives.....
