Default Programmer's opinion & Javascript

I have been reading alot of programming books and on my opinion Javascript is still the best program on the client side. My goal towards web based application is to have HTML, CSS, XML, XLST and Javascript from the client side and on the server side the Open Source server, language/s & database (Apache, PHP & MySQL). If I miss any open source please inform me. This way, clients of all free lance programmers will save alot of money.

Is there a forum about Javascript - Client side only?
Or where is the forum about Javascript?
I was looking at Forum Tools --> P2P home left side bar & I do not see any Javascript group. Is it possible to have one?

Please reply for any better suggestion/s.

John

There are two Javascript related forums.

Bruce,
Just my opionion, wouldn't it be better if it has it's own group
for easy navigation.

The reason I say it is because Web group is very a large topic group,
and if your new to the forum you might miss some topics available.

Also, I see XML topic separated (any reason why it is not in Web).

I suggest instead of just one Web topic rename it to 3 topics:

1) HTML
2) CSS
3) JavaScript

This way readers could easily navigate straight to those most popular
topics/forums.

Your prompt attention is appreciated.

John

I agree with this suggestion, those forums aren't very easy to find, and it would be nice if CSS were represented with a forum of its own.

Rich

If you do create a CSS forum, I volunteer myself for moderator. :-)

John:
I think you are confusing categories (Web, ASP, etc) with forums (HTML, JavaScript, etc within the category Web). We're trying to keep the categories to an absolute minimum to facilitate navigation. Yes, it makes for a couple of unusual groupings including this but we think this is better than too many categories.

Creating a CSS forum is a good idea. In addition to Rich's forthcoming book
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...l/-/0764576429
we've got some other CSS projects getting started so this makes a lot of sense.

Hey I'm on Amazon :-)

I think it may be better categorized with the name "Web: HTML, CSS and JavaScript".. to make its contents more explicit.

Rich
