The pages in the forums use dynamic tables that easily reflow for any resolution- So I have no idea what you mean by "force a default".
Why would the FAQ have such information?

first, ADA/508 both require support of those near-sghted...
second... I should not have to go to each page and reset it...
not a complainas such, more like feedback
as to the FAQ, consider that such content would be value not just to WROX, it would be of itnerest to all those developers who are dealing with ADA and also are bidding on gvt. contracts (hence complaince with 508 being mandatory)...
:)
thanks,
Howard

Howard:
We've got a couple of authors working on books that include some ADA/508 coverage. I'll check with them and see if either of them has a few tips/pointers or something like a FAQ they can post, probably in the CSS forum.

in nature of feedback about this and the larger issue... try spending life as sllightly more near sighted than the average, and you'll notice it, otherwise... it is a minor thing and usually over looked during app design...:)
thanks,
Howard

if no one else has written about it, let me know... one of the SOX 402 and 303 issues is accountablity and regulatory compliance across the enterprise... corporate IT is finally awkening to the need to heed ADA and 508 when designing new app's... I've been writing up such policy staements for months...

If you're not sharing with (other) Web developers what "things you need to reset", I doubt any of us is capable of implementing this feature in any Web site we make in the future.....

Howard,
1. I am nearsighted... I wear glasses for all distance viewing. Most of my family is also and I don't see how it applies to this.
2. I still don't understand what your talking about. You said:

quote:
I cannot force a default for all page displays to 640 by 480
|
Then you said:
Quote:
quote:
I should not have to go to each page and reset it...
|
What I am asking you is WHAT your resetting? How do you change whatever it is your changing? ARe you talking about the pulldown on the reply page or some other setting? You have not explained what your resetting so I can't even think about how someone could compensate for the issue.
