Default Uploading images in your signature

Hello, everyone!
This question is primarily for the Wrox staff in charge of this site.
How come we aren't allowed to add an image to our signature? I have seen another site powered by VBulletin, and you can add images to your signature on that site. Therefore, I know it's possible, since this site is also powered by VBulletin.
Is there a specific reason why it is banned on this site? Does it take up too much space?
If the Wrox Staff is worried about certain images that will be uploaded, they can make rules about what type of images you can upload. If anyone breaks these rules, their account can be banned either permanently or temporarily, but that's up to them.
Sorry, just wondering!

Andy: You nailed this one, our concern about what images would be uploaded. Because we're a publishing company and worried not just about risky looking images but also about copyright (for instance, we couldn't allow Simpsons or other copyrighted cartoon images on our forums that are so popular as avatars on many forums) we'd have to monitor and approve every image. We have enough members, new members, and attempted spammers that we don't have the resources to monitor images. So the only people who are allowed to upload images for signatures and avatars are employees and authors. Sorry about this drawback but we hope you're getting value from the forums anyway.

Thanks for the response!
And it's OK! I don't mind that I can't upload images. There's one thing that I do like about the forums - we can post links. On the other site I've seen we weren't allowed to post outside links. Being able to post links is great, because we can have people visit our website and give us feedback. Of course, it's up to a person to decide whether to click the link or not, if they're scared about the site.
And the forums are great!
