Hi all, i have solution to ur problem.
After spending 2 full days and endless number of times installing Visual studio .net 2002 i have got this solution.
First create a directory on hdd. name itr anything.
then copy copy cd2 to the same directory. it will ask that folders are same and whether u will want to replace folders and files.
u say yes. not to worry as no file will be replaced becoz cd 1 files and cd 2 files are diffrednt. only thing is tht the folder names are same.
now rerun setup from that folder. if no error comes , success, now if u have not copied 3 and 4 cd then wait for another error and then u copy.
dont copy windows componets disk 1 and later.
HDD and netowrk install does not check with cd label.
if this does not work then please note down the foll: CD Labels for visual studio disks.
visual studio .net 2002 professional= VSPROD1
ditto upto 4 disks. with only numbers chaning.
visual studio .net 2002 enterprise architect=
VSENARD1,VSENARD2....
visual studio .net 2002 enterprise
VSENTD1......
last cd that is windows compo disk 1 is VSWCUD1. THis is standard thoroghout.
so now with these cd labels burn new disks with the subsequent files in it.
Remeber that neither nero nor winiso will make compatible disk images. Becoz some files & folders are have path depth of more than 8 dirctories and folder names are very long. Use microsoft cd image util.
First burn to RW and then ccheck.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT orignal microsft disks shud always be copied 1 to1 orignal disk images. Never copy files to Hard frive and then butn to cd.
planoie i confirm thro my sources and other foruyms and thro my own experience that v studio disks and other ones exists (even game cds)that use CD labels to underatand whether right disks are inserted aor not. RARE BUT TRUE.
if this does work or not, then let me know my email is
