Default IIS configuration problem

HI,
I am having problems with displaying aspx files which were working earlier.
It keeps saying
aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is 80004005. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account.

or this
aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username and/or password supplied in the processModel section of the config file are invalid.

I was fiddling with the security tabs and stuff.
I had installed the IIS lockdown tool and then removed it.
Now what do I need to do?

thanks for ur help
AB

In what order did you install everything pertaining to .NET? What OS so you have installed.

The error has to do with data access:

Did you change anything in the machineconfig file?

XP professional..

I did not change the machine config file..

Installed the IIS first then the framework

All this was working fine and I was able to view everything..
I still am able to see the default aspx file..iisstart.asp
but all the other files that I have stored in a folder ( or even if I take a specific file out of it and just keep it in the WWWroot) I cannot see those.
I can see the folder as well as the files listed in it in the directory view..
but cannot view any of the aspx files

The browser error message is
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

My IIS is on and if I can see the default page it means that the server is on isnt it?

I remember opening the folder containing the aspx files and fiddling with the security. But ive changed the security setting in the way that everyone has access and shd not be a problem..?

try this:

1) Open a command window. (Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.)
2) Navigate to the directory of the Aspnet_regiis.exe version you want to use. Remember that each version of the .NET Framework comes with its own version.

The file is usually located in the following directory:
for XP c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\<versionNumber>
for 2000 c:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\<versionNumber>

Then type aspnet_regiis.exe -i

Also make sure the ASPNET user account has access to the folders you have your files in.
