Direct X SDK

hi all,
I want to learn to develop applications related to multimedia using DirectX SDK and i am a complete newbie to DirectX API.I am an engineering student with some knowledge of Digital Signal Processing.Can someone suggest me where to start (using DirectX,ofcourse in .NET).I m familiar with .NET and i want to code in C#.But i dont know where to start the learning process.Can someone give some links or tutorials I hope there mught be atleast one or two of ur who have done this Direct X sdk thing.
