Default iis problems

can someone help, i'm trying to view my web folder by http://localhost with my browser but it keeps asking me for a user name and password that i never set up, where do i get that from.

Tel me that which operating system are u using and how u install the iis on your system ?

i'm using windows xp professional and i installed it from the add program screen in the control panel.
