HTML and JavaScript are not communications protocols so, no, they by themselves would not be able to be used like this. I don't know how you'll be able to do this in a more efficient manner.
i built a prototype messenger using asp.net and message queues. if anybody wants the source code please main me at connect2sandeep@gmail.com. the developed code lacks security and is just a functioning protype.
