Default w3 HTML (XHTML) validation

Hi all,

I am in the process of building a website for a client. It is written in Classic ASP, which naturally has HTML as the accompaningly language.

What i was wondering is, how can i validate my code so I can display the small 'w3 validated' logos at the foot of my page to signify the code is validated?

I will also be doing this with my CSS StyleSheet.

Thanks.

You validate the parsed code which will be only HTML.

this is the logo(s) i am refering to
http://bersace03.free.fr/images/icon...id-xhtml11.png

What i was wondering do people, just validate the code themselves from the w3 site (like the CSS validator) - then download the image i posted above and code i into their site?

I had thought that the page had to be validated by W3 themselves and then they issue you with the image?

thanks meow, by parsed code do you mean after you load the page in your browser, right-click then validate that? thus omitting SS code (ASP)

Hi,

I think this is what meow is talking about. You only need to validate the source that can be viewed in your browser. This is how I do it and it is sufficient.

Thanks to both of you,

I can successfully enter that in to the W3 validator.

What i was looking to do now was when a user of my site clicks the W3 XHMTL 1.1 link it takes the source of that page and goes to the W3 validator site to check if the site, is indeed W3 compliant.

Is this possible? I'm sure ive seen it done before.....

Validate again and this time *read* the result page... That can be very useful.
