Default Converting V.B.6 Code to V.B. 2005 - Help !

I looked up in my 'help' menu, how to convert V.B.6 applications to V.B. 2005 automatically. Despite using the example provided in my 'Express Edition', i.e. Drawing.vbp & using the conversion wizard, it was unable to compile/assemble, and even threw up a number of errors, suggesting it didn't recognise certain methods & properties, e.g. PictureBox.Cls ( I thought this would be the very thing the conversion would be able to 'translate' into V.B.2005) This, it would appear, caused it not to produce the relevant .exe file. I did follow the instructions to the letter. if anyone has any suggestions without further details, I'd be most grateful. (I can of course, cite error messages etc. verbatim if necessary). Thanks Liam..... I used the example for the sake of practice, but have several projects in waiting for conversion, I really would appreciate some help on this.

Forget about it!
Buy your self a new book, and teach yourself VB.NET.
VB.Net was rewritten from the core. I Had the same problem trying convert vb-6 to VB7(NET) Visual studio will never convert this correctly. :(
That's why i moved in to the C#. I'm happy!

The automatic conversion process is not a viable alternative for anything but the most simple of applications.
As suggested above, it is probably a good time for you to learn to program in VB.NET or C#. One alternative is to hire someone who already has the skills to do the porting, and work with them closely as they rewrite tha applications. This will be a good learning process for you.

Good luck.
