Default Designing an J2EE Application

I have been doing J2EE coding from two years. Now I want to move to
Designing a J2EE Application. What should I refer to become an expert designer and where I can find that stuff.
Is there any design tool called VISIO ? If yes, where can I get it or its free trial version. Please help.
Thanx.
Arvind K.
