Default Beginning Java Games

I teach Java to Middle School students. This age group will focus on programming if the result is a working game. I like to give students a working class and ask them to modify it and/or improve it in a particular way, depending upon the lesson. So, I would like to find some games written in Java that I could use for beginning Java teaching examples.

Java OpenGL. JOGL will be a great place to start. 3D games capture middle school students attention a lot than 2D games.

Visit this website. You may need some time to do the dirty installation work. After that you are set to run the demo tutorials. I guess there are a lot more samples available online too. Just google for em.

Thanks Much,
