Default DAO

Hi;

I wish to have your opinion on the various tools and API to access into a database in J2ee.
My constraints are:
1 - Structure of the base not optimized
2 - Many data stored in the form of blobe
3 - Much data into database
4 - Oracle 10 as db server

Mapping O/T not possible, Ibatis good tool but not of layer of Business Objects, remains JDBC with rowset.
Somebody know other solution ?

Regards;
