Hi dude,
Well Eclipse is the best compiler for Java..a personal belief. It can run on Linux as well as windows and is a lot more powerful than JCreator. However, JCreator is a very simple tool and has an inbuilt browser that enables you to view the JDK docs and API's...ofcourse you gotta have then on the HD. So if you are new to this IDE's I think you would love JCreator

I presume none of you have used IntelliJ IDEA.

Now that is a real IDE i seriously recommend everyone to download the trial from http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/ but only if you are willing to spend some to time to actually study it.

The complexity is easy to throw users into hatred but once the powerful features and concepts are grasped you will be surprised how sweet it is.

P.s. Eclipse is only growing so fast because it is free but IDEA is way more powerful.
