Yeah I use the FCKeditor in a lot of the projects I work on, and haven't found much problems configuring it.
Not sure what you mean with the "unofficial file editor with asp"...
Cheers,

The normal fck editor is no problem to install for asp,
It's when I try to install the unofficial filebrowser extension that I have trouble with. The unoficial file browser has extra functionality such as thumbnails, delete files and edit a image.
The filebrowser extension can be found at: http://mcpuk.net/fbxp/
click on demo and go to imagesto check it out it is a LOT better than the original filebrowser.
mean while I put in my own thumbnail and delete function with a lot of blood sweat and tears
This is my junk I'm gona eat it

have you tryed thier forum?
Another option:
I use the cuteSoft editor (www . cutesoft . net ). Its not free however THE ONLY one I found that has a server side spell checker which has no client side dependencies. The .net framework is required on the server. No dictionary files or .dlls are required on the client. It very good

Matt,
My project is for a university. It is therefore done for free, ie the software will use is free as well. I have pretty much finished the project but the university have said they need to see an thumbail view when slecting the image.
I therefore need to keep with fckeditor and i have built in other functionality but get this thumbnail view to work in asp.
what forum do u mean anyhow? the support page on their website that is a contact form?
I am using fckeditor 2.3.1
has anyone got the code from the http://mcpuk.net/fbxp/ website to work recently fot asp?
Please advise
thanks

Understand. I have not used this editor as it did not meet my needs. I code on a strict SOE and the spell checker features on the FCK editor are inferior to cutsoft's in relation to client side dependencies. Should this editor do what you are trying to do? 'See a thumbail view when slecting the image' seems a fairly big ask to me, especially for a free tool.
The forum. If you place 'fckeditor forum' into Goggle the first item is the forum I speak of:
http://fckeditor.biz/
