Default Accessing data on the clipboard.

IE version 5 and above have 2 browser objects( ClipboardData and DataTransfer) that are used to access data on the clipboard. If you know how to do it post some examples.
If you have accessed data on the clipboard in some other way, please post some examples.

Regards

Adolf

[u]http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/dhtml_reference_entry.asp</u>
The above address that was posted by Joe is wrong, it will take you no where clipboardData or dataTransfer objects.

clipboardData Object address:
[u]http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/objects/clipboarddata.asp</u>

dataTransfer Object address:
[u]http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/objects/obj_datatransfer.asp</u>

the address of
DHTML Objects under which clipboardData and dataTransfer are classified
[u]http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/objects.asp</u>

This is how you have to reply to questions such as the one I have posted.

Excuse me?? You have to what????

The link Joe posted is to the index page of the DHTML reference. It's only one click away from info about clipboardData and other objects.

A little bit of own initiative when it comes to looking might be expected from people visiting this list, don't you think? All you need to do is click the DHTML Objects link.

And if you know how you "have to reply to these questions", why answer them in the first place? ;)

I can forgive your rude tone, emails are notoriously bad at expressing speakers' emotive state and English may well not be your primary language but I do get fed up of the same questions appearing in these groups by people who have not bothered to do the slightest bit of work themselves. Why do they prefer to ask others and possibly wait ages for an answer, if they receive one at all, rather than do even the smallest study themselves?
The first result back from Google gave all the information about 'clipboardData' even with that solitary word in the title. The reason I posted that link rather than a more specific one was because that library has the most comprehensive information about dhtml, JavaScript and general programming I have ever come across. It is obviously IE orientated but as Mozilla and IE are converging this is normally sufficient for me. 90% of questions to the forums I haunt could be resolved by going there if the poster could be bothered.

I shall bear your instructions in mind for future replies.

Comments…., comments…, comments! Is there anything else the WESTERNERS are capable of? I do not think so. Therefore I am not surprised why the WESTERNERS are so dumb.

Remind me again, who needed to ask a question about the clipboard, who was unable to follow a link and who was unable to use a search engine?
