i can not use the mysql_connect() function

hai,

i am using windows XP Professional. I installed mysql5,php4.4 and iis5.1. when i am tring to connect the mysql database through mysql_connect() function, i am being given the error message. function undefined. But in win98 i could use this.

What should i do to use that functions to connect the mysql database. Is there any changes should be made in the php.ini file? if it is s then pls inform me the steps to do.

Are you sure you're using PHP4.4? In PHP5, the MySQL functions are not compiled in to the main PHP build. Instead you have to enable the MySQL functions by uncommenting the MySQL extension DLL in mysql.ini. In PHP 4.x, you should not need to do this. If you're sure it's PHP 4.4, then double-check that you spelled the function name correctly! :)
