Default Avoid .net frame work installation with setup inst

Hi,

I created a windows application and its working fine.

I've created a set up for it (Setup & deployment application).

The setup is working fine on computers on which .Net or its framework is installed.

But each time I try to install it on a computer with neither .Net nor its frame work installed, it gives me a message "install .net framework..."

Is there a way to develop/install setup applications and run them on computers with no .Net or its frame work, just to run the setup.

Nope.

The framework is literally the framework. Installing a .NET application without the framework would be like putting up a roof without walls.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

1)
The setup is always trying to go online to get the framework, instead is there a way
to say get framework setup from local system "c:..." or giving IP address for setup present on a remote computer.

2)
Is there any way to embedd the installation of frame work in my setup.
What I mean is single setup should install both framework and my setup
one after the other.

Thanks
Kalyan

Go here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms994395.aspx

scroll about half way down to the section titled:

"Creating a Single Setup Project to Install a .NET Framework Application and Dotnetfx.exe"

This should get you started.

Hi,

The framework is about 22MB in size, so it can be done.

If you are packaging it through the IDE, you can include the dotnetfx.exe with the install if you wish.

Anyone who keeps up with the WindowsUpdates will have this installed, and since .NET 3.0 has been released it may be best getting them to update their computer.

Regards,

Dominic
