auto refreshing using web service

hi,
i am developing a web application which has a database being updated from the local database.So, i want to update the web view of that database to the user.If i refresh the whole page then all the records are gone and then come back.i want to refresh it in such a way through the web services that the whole page does not refresh at all and only the new records are shown to the user. can somebody help me please.
