Default call web service from pocket pc

Hi, my problem is how to call web service which is on my desktop PC from my pocket pc whitch is only client. Do they have to be in LAN with wirelles or bluetooth or infrared, and how than should I set LAN, or the solution is on other place (maybe only with cradle cable?
