Default BITMAP INDEX

I need your help I have a digital video storage systems running on Oracle and there is no index on the table. My understanding of bitmap indexes is to speed up searches on non-selective columns, also bitmap indexes are most effective for static data is that right? Now what kind of index should be put on digital video storage systems table? I look forward to hearing from anyone.

Regards,
