Default How to configure mysql server in linux fedora core

Hello friends ,
myself sachinkumar durge
i am just complete my degree.Now i am reading a beginners of PHP4 i have the problem connectivity in linux .
My server is apache and backend is mysql but i can't get connected with him.can u help me
