Default How to cache image from users hd?

I'm implementing a site with a lots of images for my friends,
and some of them have dial up analog modem. In this way my little site will be a pain to load for these guys. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a pack with the images and let them unzip it in a directory in their hard disk where my php code can load the image(s) checking its adress via db... a kind of grafic pack, I guess :)
If someone hasn't the pack, I wish he/she can download the images from internet.
Is it possible?
Thank you,
Pachuca from the North
