Default Java Application

I am currently in a security course in College and need to see if there is any sample code available in Java that deals with dictionary attacks or brute force attacks. I assure you this is not a malicious request. I need some examples so I can write my own for a demonstration in Information Security class for a grade. This code will be used in a secure environment between two laptop computers connected to a mini switch simulating a network.
Any suggestions or where I can view some sample code would be appreciated.
