Default Creating resource DLL in visual basic 6.0

Dear All,

I need some help on creating a resource dll file on visual basic 6.0.

I want to create a resource DLL file where I can put a lots of necessary BMP or picture files for storage as well as with waves and icons. So that I can distribute this dll with my vb application. And call them when I need them from my applications.

Can any body show this implemention on visual basic 6.0 ? I did not find this help in any where.

regards,
Zunaid

What does this have to do with Reader Surveys?

Shouldn't this entire forum be locked, any moderator or administrator?

what type of help do you need Zunaid?? it's not a complex thing. just put them in a form in the dll and make a procedure to return it to the main program...

Gonzalo,

I Know I can put them in Form ImageList and how to call them
any time. But that makes the app.exe file very large. And that ultimately makes the whole program very slow to initialize.

That is why I want to put them in a DLL file. So I can only load the dll file whenever I really want to. I want to implement it in off process DLL file.

Can you have any idea how to do it ?

Any idea of extracting those bitmaps, icons, and other resources from DLL files ?

Thanks
Zunaid

I think Gonzalo means you should put the pictures onto a form in the DLL, not a form in the exe. Then write a routine to return the picture object you want from the DLL's form.

Owain understand my point..
you can make functions to return the things you need from the dll.. here we use something like that b/c we have several apps. with the same pictures.. take in mind that it will slow a little your program...
