Default VB6 Installation fails

I created an App using VB6 and an Access database, I created the setup package using P&DW, and tried it on a WinXP Pro machine. It worked fine. When I tried to run the setup on the client's machine (I had to un-install a previous version from it, but I also did it in the test machine), the Copying Files window appeared and a messagebox saying that Setup had to update some files and then restart the computer before running setup again (this had happened to me before when installing on Win95 or Win98 machines, but never on a WinXP Pro machine), you can only cancel the installation or restart the computer, but even after restarting (and even turning off the system) the same thing happens and the setup program never runs! I would really appreciate any help on this, THX.

hi there...
P&D doesn't work the way it should.. it try to updates files in the system that are correct, and then restart the machine, infinite times...
i dont have at hand, but you can tweak the setup.lst to avoid this, i think it was something about changing the version of the system files that the setup install at the beggining, that's avoid your problem..
also, never test your program in your dev. machine.. it will always work, no matter what you do...

HTH

Gonzalo: thanks for the tip, I'll look into the file, but probably will migrate to generating setup programs with the VS installer utility or some other tool. P&DW can really give you a headache!
