Default Serious Problems with Applications in Excel 2002

I have built a number of Excel based applications. The applications are completely stand-alone and make considerable use of form_controls on boths spreadsheets and user forms.

The applications were built on an NT platform using Excel 97.
The applications run with no problem on NT/Excel97 and run with no problem on Win2000/Excel2000.

On Windows XP/Excel2002 nothing will run at all. Crashes occur in all sorts of places - Excel disappears off the screen, half the screen goes grey : you can continue using the spreadsheet 'blind' but you can never get a full view of the screen.

I found that re-building the spreadsheets in Excel 2002 brought a lot more stability, but I am still having a huge number of very serious problems and do not know what to do next.

For example these are the types of crashes which are now occuring: they do not happen all the time, and are very difficult to pin down. For example, if a user inserts a row, the applications crashes off the screen. If the user goes to save the file under a different location, the file crashes off the screen.

I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas or advice they can put forward which might help.

Many thanks
