hope someone out there can let me know why my vb program behaves differently when i run it from the exe from when i run it from within the program. When ran from the exe the program runs through the code within a lostFocus sub but doesnot run through this when program is ran from the exe...

if running from the IDE you put a breakpoint, when the break point is reached the 'whatever' control loses its focus. In the executable, the only way to get a lost focus event is to click on some other control (that can get the focus)
Or am I missing something here?

Hi..

Some times code in IDE and exe behaves little different, especially for lostfocus events.
If you specifically does not require lostfocus event you use validate event instead.
Or you can monitor events by writing debug code in events to a file
