Default Using CDO2000 and SMTP

Good Day...
        my problem is that i want to send and recieve emails from my application made in Visual Basic 6.0.
now i know about CDO 2000 objects....but i dont know about SMTP server...and how to use it....when i use CDO objects
it would ofcourse ask me which SMTP server i use.....and i dont know about this query....

one more thing...i have IIS 5.0 installed on my computer and i know it contains SMTP service....i tried my best to
configure the SMTP virtual server(by reading its help file..)...but my application is giving error that it cannot
connect with my SMTP server.....if anyone from readers have experience with CDO 2000 and SMTP servers....plz plz
help me bcoz i need this urgently.............Thanks in anticipation
