Default Driver for VB.Net and Oracle

Using the server explorer I attempted to create a new connection. According to help menu, at the Data Link Properties, under the Provider tab I should find 'Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle', but it's not there.

I have successfully loaded the 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB'. Is this the same driver? Did I miss it on install?

I'm running Oracle 9i.

Thanks
Mike Parish

It's there when I tried it. What version of the .NET framework are you using?

All:

My mistake. I'm running Visual Studio .NET (Academic), which does not include the Microsoft Driver for Oracle.

I found out when I checked the Visual Studio .NET Editions page in the help directory. I guess I'll have to upgrade my application.

Sorry all.
