What's this pls %Number%

Hi,
Can any one Explain this to me:

select top %Number%
Gou.[Domain] as 'Domain',
Nog.[Name] as 'Name',

SELECT TOP n [PERCENT] where n is the number or pecentage of rows you wish to return. Including the optional PERCENT keyword limits the rows returned to a perecentage of the total number of rows.

Note:
SELECT TOP n ...
is more or less meaningless without an ORDER BY clause...
