Default msde backup

Hi,

I have a database in MSDE, name "matSQL". I have an acceess project (mat) in which I have my database.
How can I make a backup of my database? I tried doing like going to tools> database utilites> Backup SQL database.
I save my database or project (not sure which one it did) but it saves in "dat" type. And when I try to open my backup, i get the message
"unknown type". Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks

what version of access do you have? You may be able to run a SQL Script to backup the database from a stored procedure.
I am not sure if Access XP allows you to create a database backup from the menu. I think 200 did. Anyway, do you have enterprise manager?

Enterprise manager is the tool that allows you to administer your database. Download books online from microsoft' s web site. search for backup and create a stored procedure that backs up your database.
