It seems to me there is something in laptop+Windows xp configuration that limits access to SQL Server to the Guest login only.
How to remove it and be able to access with the real individual Windows login?
Is your laptop XP home edition?
If your laptop nevers logs on to the network (or atleast authenticate with the SQL server), you won't be able to use integrited security.
You may need the latest version of MDAC. Windows authentication works on XP, but i am not sure about XP Home. I have Windows XP Tablet. Yes, I was dumb enough to buy a tablet.
Did you install SQL Server using hte Guest account? I doubt it.
