Default SQL Server & MSDE

What's the implication if i will intall MSDE2000 and SQL Server 2000?
Will it mean that i have 2 instances of SQL Servers running?

Can i make Functions, Stored Procedures in MSDE?
If Possible, In what interface (Access or SQL Server)

Does SQL Server 2000 has backward compatibility with MSDE?
