Default Sql Server does not exist


Hello,
      I have server with sql server 2000 on windows 2003 std edi OS. but i am not able to connect it from my local machine(other than server) which is not on intranet. It gives me error that SQL Server does not exist. And i am able to connect to server by both ip , local ip and other. so can help how to configure SQL server so it allow me to login from my local machine ( through internet ) ??

Not to clear on what you are saying. Can you connect to your SQL Server using Enterprise Manager?
to connect to your SQL Server via internet you can use

I think he has the same problem as me.... I can't be able to register my local instance of sql server with the sql s server ent. manager, it shows the denied or not exists message, by the way the server agent is running and i can navigte tru my local sql server from vs .net and retrieve the tables data also .... so the problem resides in that we are unable to register an instance o sql server on the mssql ent. manager.

I resolve the problem.... i open 'QUERY ANALYSER' (on sql server folder), on the 'connect to sql server' windows i enter the name of the pc user "\" and the server name example: USER\SQLSERVER
then enter the (correct) sa user login and password; minimize the analyser and open mssql ent manager, the server should be there conected if you succesfully login in the analyser.
