Can anyone tell me where to find good resources on how to create a remote connection to a sql db.

for one of our sites, the web files are hosted on one server, while the database back end for the site is hosted on another.

You may use the following connection string.

Provider=SQLOLEDB;DATA SOURCE=<IP Address of server>;UID=<username>;PWD=<password>; DATABASE=<db name>

Where

IP Address - IP address of db server
Username - username to connect to db server
Password - password to connect to db server
DB Name - name of the database
