Default How to establish a sql server desktop engine

Hello..
       I installed sql server desktop engine1.0.But in that the sa login is not active.
I can create the databases by using WindowNT Authentication mode.While trying to create a database using "sa" login it gives the error "user not found".I had made the installation forsa login.I inserted the SAPWD etc.But still it gives error.Another problem is while using the WindowsNT authentication the connection is not at all establishing.Can any one help me??
