Default Owner name before function


While calling scaler functions, why we have to define owner before function name.
Eg: Select @curr_date=dbo.GetCurrDate(<Parameters>)

Scalar functions require that their two-part names be used when they are called

shahchi1 is right,
but there is more to say
every object should be qualified by owner name
