Default URGENT:Connecting SQL server through Proxy server

Hi !!!

I want to know how can I connect a remote SQL server database, which is on the Internet, from my local computer. The local computer is on LAN and connected to the internet through wingate proxy server.

Please reply soon.

Hi

The port the SQL server in listening on should be open on the proxy with the SQL server as the destination. The default port is TCP 1433 I would assume that the SQL server on the internet is behind a firewall also. That firewall should also allow Port 1433 from your proxy to the SQL server. Let me know if you need more information.

I think you have to also do port forwarding for port 1433 on your local firewall (proxy server) to get it to your local box. This all assumes the SQL server was setup to talk on port 1433. You can pick a different port if you wanted to on the server side.

Thanks a lot. The issue is resolved. It was a problem with the port settings in my local proxy server.
