Hi, I am (trying) to connect to MS SQL through an MS Access ADP.

The SQL Server is installed on my laptop and the ADP is in a PC connected to the intranet.

I am able to detect the presence of the SQL Server, but unable to connect to it.

Below is the error message that I am received when I try to establish the connection:

Access is unable to connect to 'MYDATA' database on the 'Scripts_SQLServer' server. Make sure that the database still exists and that the server is running

When the ADP is on the laptop, I am able to connect to the SQL Server without problem.
I figured that it must be some settings on the SQL Server that I failed to set up properly that is causing this problem. Can someone guide me in finding out what is the problem or anything that may be the problem so that I can look into it?

Here are some troubleshooting steps
Ping script_SQLServer

If that works doublecheck your authentication settings for SQL Server. Are you in Windows only or Mixed?

What method are you using from the intranet computer? Are you supplying a SQL Login and password or are you using SSPI (Windows Authentication)?
