Default Uninstalling SQL Server 2000 While Running 2005

I currently have both SQL Server 2000 and SQL 2005 installed and running correctly. However now that I have migrated all of my databases to 2005 I want to uninstall 2000. But before I do so I wanted to check with all of you experts and make sure nothing bad is going to happen! ;) 2000 was up and running when 2005 was put over the top of it, and from day 1 of running 2005 all of my databases and files from 2000 populated right in 2005. Also, I have the option in add/remove to blow away 2005 but didn't know how safe it would be or if a re-install is going to be needed. Has anyone done this or know if it is as smooth as can be?

Default

I have uninstalled 2000 after installing 2005 as a named instance. It did not kill my machine.
Having said that I always have a roll back plan (a backup and a plan of how to fix it if it brakes)
Is this a production server? IF so you need to be concerned about moving the data and then reconfiguring the apps that use simultaneously (more or less) so that you don't lose data.
