Default Getting in to SQL server 97

I've installed SQL Server 97. I have the little computer icon with the green triangle which means it's running. How do I get into the server (create a server name and a connection).

I'm trying to create a server name and store files so I can access them with my browser. All I'm getting are errors

By the way, there is not SQL Server 97. Are you using SQL Server 7 or SQL Server 2000?
First you will have to create a database. To do this,
-open enterprise manager
-Expand Microsoft SQL Servers
-expand SQL Server Group
-Expand your Server. this will have the name of your computer
-Right Click Databases and select Create New Database
follow the rest of the wizard.

Will you be using this for a personal stuff or for work?

Is SQL SErver installed on your local machine or on a network machine.?
If it is a network machine do as follows
OK, Right click SQL Server Group and click on
New Server Registration.
click next
select the server from available servers and click add
click next and follow the rest of the wizard.

After that re-start the previous task I wrote.
Let me know how ig goes.

Then do the previous post and you should find your computer in the list. Are you on a network?

Open books online from the start menu and browse for creating a database.

Are you trying to connect to SQL Server using ADO or ADO.NET?
You can access some of the default databases that get created with the installation, but you do need the name of the server that you are trying to connect and the name of the database that you will use.
