Default Best way to move data from 2000 to 2005

I have just installed SQL2005 and before installing backed up my 2000 databases. Now I was to restore to 2005 and it won't let me. Message was something like "Database b/u not from same source". Is there something special I have to do or maybe do an export and import? Not quite sure what I'm doing since I'm not a DBA but a programmer.

Jim

Are you restoring your user databases or are you trying to restore one of the system databases: master, model, or msdb? If the latter, then the error you get is by design. If it is a user database then it should work.
