I've to do below mentioned tasks.
1. create a user

2. Create a tablespace

3. export & import

4. create a database

5. Take a backup

6. restore

7. attach & detach the database

Plz be patient to answer these.I really appreciate your quick responses.

Vaasmru,

Instead of giving you the answers, I will provide the place to go read up on this.

1) to create a user, you must first create a login. Look up sp_addlogin in the SQL Server books online. Next, look up the syntax for CREATE LOGIN.

2) I am assuming that by "tablespace", you mean TABLE. You need to create a database first, so look up hte syntax for CREATE DATABASE. Then, once you have your database created, look up the syntax for CREATE TABLE.

3) Look in Books Online for "Import and Export Wizard".

4) See #2

5) Look up "Backing up databases" in Books Online. You will learn a LOT. I am not trying to be short here, but it all depends on whether you want to back up to a device, a file, tape, etc.

6) Same as #5. Look up "Restoring Databases" in Books Online.

7) Again, look up "Dettaching and Attaching Databases" in Books Online.

Also, most if not all of these tasks can be done via SQL Server Management Studio.

Vasasmru, I am not trying to rude or short with you. There are entire chapters in books dedicated to each of these topics, so to answer them here would be a very lengthy post. However, I am more than happy to help so I am trying to provide you with the exact place to go look. If you do not have Books Online, you can download them for free here:

I hope this helps.

Scott
