Default AS2005 using a sql2000 Datawarehouse

Hello there everyone
Can someone answer what may appear to be a stupid question please ?
If I install analysis Services 2005 can I use my exsisting SQL 2000 Datawarehouse to supply the dimension tables ?

I think i read somewhere that you can. However, I don't want to lead you astray so I am trying to find where I read that to make sure.

cheers Scott I have looked everywhere for some information on this I just think if I can migrate all my cubes to AS2005 first and then migrate the datawarehouse it would be much easier than doing the whole lot at once.
Any information you can find would be greatly appreciatted cheers Jim

Analysis services is a seperate product included with SQL. It requires to a connection to a SQL server to work. So you can't use it in a pure Oracle or other environment. It requires a single MS-SQL licence no matter how you use it. If it does not require that it connnect to sql 2005 you can probably use it as you describe. But it may require a connection to a SQL 2005 server in order for your to pull data from a SQL 2000 database. Please post what you find out (works or doesn't work and if so how). I would like to see the feedback on this thread.
