I have used the VB package & deployment wizard for my
app.

Do I have to copy the Crystal report files onto the user machine ? Is there any other way to deploy the rpt files on the user machine ?

As far as i know...there's some components from Crystal to embeded our report, but that component make not for free...
anyway, which version of crystal report you use ?

Thank u for replying.

I use Crytal 9.0. I have used CRAXDRT9.DLL and CRVIEWer. The reports are inthe 'Reports' directory in my development environment. I opened up the report in th VB code as ----> crReport.OPenReport(App.path() & "\Reports\Reportname.rpt").

When I run the app on the user m/c it says, report file not found. SO I had to copy all the rpt file in the 'Reports' directory on the user machine (win98). It does not work after that too ( Illegal memory operation in CRAXDRT9.DLL :( )

It worked on WIn2K & WinXP m/c. It worked once on a Win98 machine today ( yesterday it failed - Invalid page fault in CRAXDRT9.DLL ). However, it crashed the second time on Win98( same error ).

im shooting the moon here, but could it be something with long names in the files????

remember that win 98 doesn't support long names files in a good way...

Tried that. Still the same behaviour. Works sometimes
and doesn't other times.

Will try uninstalling & installing CR9.

Illegal Page Fault might be trigger by uncompatible function or else from the crystal *.DLL that using other's DLL from our OS (16 Bit or 32 Bit), if the DLL doesn't exist then It will shown as illegal by the system. For setup i got i nice one, you should try it ( Search for INNO SETUP this is free ) and Active Report in the net. But till now, i didn't get the way for embedding the reports ( Sorry ) except with the Embedded Object from Crystal. . .
