Default cut it up

How do i cut this string:
ContractID:60 , Contract Code:BT5KL2N5
(coming from XML and going into a variable called 'contractline')

how to cut it up and put just the '60' into a variable in Visual Basic 6?

find the positions of the first ":" and "," characters in the string, and then use the Mid$ function to extract the string between those two positions. (this will work if the number is indeed between the first : and , )
