Default VB.NET freezes when debugging

My firewall program started causing VB.NET to freeze when I go to debug mode. I have had both programs on the same computer for 2 months now and now suddely this problem pops up. Has anyone had this experince? Does anyone know the solution? I did not change any settings, just one day bam... I scanned for viruses (none), tried a fresh install (plenty of room on the HDD), but if I put ANY firewall on the computer I get the same problem (have Norton Internet Security, tried Zone Alarm instead to see if I could get up and running). Thanks, eff

My guess is that the way your machine is resolving your machine name has changed and as a result your connection is leaving your PC.. going out to the network.. and coming back in. That means it's subject to the firewall rules for connections to the machine.

I'd suggest looking into changes on my network in regards to routing and how your identifying your local machine (use localhost)

Thanks Hal, eff

P.S. I thought that you were not supposed to name your computer something that would be easy to guess for security reasons. Are there settings that I could check to see if this is the problem?
